Prison Reintegration Support Worker

Salary: £14.84 per hour
Vetting Required: Enhanced DBS and HMPPS prison vetting
Are you passionate about supporting people to rebuild their lives?
We are looking for sessional Prison Reintegration Support Workers to join our small team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with a history of offending. Based in a custodial setting, you will provide tailored advice and support to help Service Users overcome barriers, build confidence, and reintegrate into society.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll support clients with:
- Finance, Benefits, and Debt – helping individuals understand entitlements, manage debt, and improve financial independence.
- Life Skills – from budgeting and meal preparation to living independently.
- Health and Wellbeing – signposting, motivation, and practical advice to promote a healthier lifestyle.
- Disclosure Guidance – empowering individuals to confidently and appropriately disclose convictions.
You’ll deliver both 1:1 sessions and group work, using a person-centred and strengths-based approach. You will work closely with partner agencies, maintain accurate records, and track progress to evidence impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and develop tailored support plans.
- Deliver advice and interventions aligned with individual goals.
- Engage and motivate service users to achieve sustainable outcomes.
- Support service users with benefits advice, appeals, and budgeting.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to service performance targets.
- Collaborate with external agencies in a multi-agency setting.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, and professional boundaries in all aspects of work.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants with strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and a non-judgemental attitude. You will bring:
- Experience delivering group interventions or 1:1 advice.
- Knowledge of benefit systems, housing, and related legislation (desirable).
- Ability to manage complex situations with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Excellent communication and IT skills.
- Motivation to work with people facing significant challenges in their lives.
