Salary  up to £34,999 per annum (depending on teaching qualifications held and training requirements)

Working pattern –37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Who are we looking for?

 

The Pathways department are looking to recruit a high-quality teacher to deliver valuable life and employability skills to a range of learners. You will be joining an existing team of nine teachers and nine Learning support assistants, all of whom are incredibly supportive and caring. The ideal candidate will be able to build positive relationships with the learners and work with them to achieve their individual goals. 

 

This role could be a wonderful opportunity for an applicant who is an experienced teacher OR someone who is interested in becoming a qualified teacher; we are able to provide the training and support within this post.

 

 

What will I be doing as a Teacher of Pathways?

 

 

Duties include (but are not limited to):    

 

  • Design, plan and deliver the curriculum in the technical area of expertise in line with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF), awarding body standards, funding guidance and Nacro curriculum guidance and quality standards.
  • Develop appropriate learning resources, facilities and environment to support high quality teaching and learning, prepare learners for the world of work/further study, and contribute to wider good practice in team/directorate.
  • Identify and support work placements for learners in industry specialism using guidance, and ensure learning is recorded and reflected in work placement journals and ILPs.
  • Actively engage with and support learners in decisions that affect their learning and outcomes and as part of wider planned learner voice activity.

Requirements for the role include but are not limited to:

 

  • Maths and English Level 2 or above is essential.
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) qualification or equivalent is preferred. However, if not already qualified as a teacher, we are willing to support those, who have a strong motivation to complete teaching qualifications (with the support of a mentor at the College).
  • Experience delivering education within schools, colleges, or private provision is desirable.
  • Experience of working with learners with SEMH / SEN is desirable.
  • Experience of teaching Entry level Maths and/or English at entry level 2-3. Is desirable
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communications with students and staff at all levels is essential.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal and teamwork skills is desirable.
  • An Enhanced, with Barred Lists DBS check is essential.
